I’m Sandra Alvarez, CEO of Akahina Group and Founder of the Akahina Gives Back Hope Foundation. Born in Buenaventura, Colombia, I graduated from The American Broadcasting School in Radio and Television with a minor in Public Relations. I’m a Certified Holistic Health & Wellness Coach, Certified Reiki Master/Practitioner, and a Court-Appointed Special Advocate at Voice for Children. I’m a philanthropist supporting cancer research, a member of City of Hope Women’s Cancer Walk, and OCVMFC. Founded in 2015, the Akahina Gives Back Hope Foundation is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to serving vulnerable communities. I work alongside my husband, Juan Carlos Alvarez. We’re currently partnering with Escuela Normal Superior in Popayán, Colombia, to help over 100 children with special needs and are focused on building a vocational school for deaf graduates.
